Street Music Week will make its return in 2020 with one notable change.
Instead of College Avenue, Fox Valley musicians will perform on the information superhighway.
The 8th annual Street Music Week is heading online and will take place from Mon. Aug. 17 through Friday, Aug. 21. Again, it’s a fundraiser for Feeding America of Eastern Wisconsin.
The event has typically brought scores of musicians downtown during the lunch hour. Instead of asking for tips, they’d ask for donations to the food bank.
Although the format is different this year, the spirit is the same. If the music moves you, show your appreciation by helping to ensure that residents of our region are getting meals.
The event is sponsored by Heid Music, Appleton Downtown Inc. and Feeding America.

Heid will stream musicians on its Facebook and Instagram pages. Music fans are asked to donate online at http://feedingamericawi.org/smwdonate/, or make a donation via check or cash at Heid Music.
The Heid team is also looking for highlights from previous years to use in a special feature. Photos can be submitted to events@HeidMusic.com.Organizers are encouraging everyone to continue to make music and create a Street Music Week experience at home. Make it social and share photos or videos via Facebook or Instagram and tag Heid Music with the #SMW2020.
Last year’s event raised nearly $5,000 for Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.
Music lovers — both players and listeners — have combined to raise more than $20,000 to fight hunger through the event’s first seven years.
