The stage lights have been down and the seats have been empty, though the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center is now delivering one thing that theatre fans have been missing.
They’re giving the community a sense of anticipation.
The Fox Cities PAC will remain dark this year, though on Monday, they’ll host an online event revealing its 2021 season. The reveal will take place on Aug. 10 at 6 p.m. on the PAC’s Facebook page.
They’ll also bring arts to the community in another way.
Artist Irineo Medina will be complete a series of eight murals depicting how the arts inspire togetherness and belonging. They’ll be displayed on the eight pillars along College Avenue.
Medina will paint the final mural at 10 a.m. in front of the PAC with a playlist of songs focusing on togetherness and belonging.
Medina’s work has already brought color to Downtown Appleton.
His diversity-inspired piece across from Houdini Plaza on the side of Crazy Sweet was painted in June.
Though the PAC hasn’t been able to welcome guests, they’ve continued to deliver on their arts mission in a virtual format.
Its online program, The Show Must Go On, engages audiences with local and national partners in the live performing arts. It airs every Monday at 7:30 p.m.
