Chalk Walk, concerts among the highlights for the week ahead

Grab a mask, sanitize those hands, get out and enjoy.

Though the summer calendar isn’t what we’re used to in the Fox Valley, there’s still plenty to take in and this week features some gems.

Kaukauna’s Live from Hydro Park concert series announced today that its second event of 2020 is on tap for Wednesday night. Stephen Cooper and the Nobody Famous will perform with festivities kicking off at 5:30 p.m.

The concert series had a strong crowd for its first show of the season last week in spite of scorching temperatures and short notice.

And for those who are a little tense about leaving home, know there was plenty of room to keep a distance from others enjoying some tunes.

Also on Wednesday, Future Neenah’s Summer Concert Series will move to Riverside Park. The Third Wheels will play from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Though typically held at Shattuck Park, the more spacious Riverside Park was chosen to promote safety as covid-19 numbers continue to climb.

Enjoy some music with your lunch on Thursday. Appleton’s Lunchtime Live series will feature Kurt Gunn at 11:30 a.m. on the patio at D2 Sports Pub. At the same time, Future Neenah’s Out to Lunch series will feature Sweet Land of Liberty at Riverside Park.

The Heid Music Summer Concert Series will continue in livestream format on Thursday with The Cougars hitting your device of choice from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. You’ll find the stream at the Appleton Downtown Inc. Facebook page.

On Friday, make plans to take your evening walk along College Ave.

Downtown Creates returns and this month is the annual Chalk Walk competition. Chalk artists will turn the sidewalks into a temporary museum with impressive and detailed pieces that’ll last until the next bout of precipitation.
