The Wisconsin Area Music Industry has opened voting for its 2020 People’s Choice awards categories. As the name suggests, the vote is open to everyone.
The 40th Annual WAMI Awards will be held April 19 at Milwaukee’s Turner Hall Ballroom.
The People’s Choice Awards are awarded by quadrant of the state. Categories include artist of the year, radio station of the year, music teacher of the year, live club venue of the year and music fan of the year.
The WAMI Awards show will include awards presentations in more than 35 categories.
The show will include live music performance and induction of the 2020 Hall of Fame class, which includes Milwaukee Americana roots rockers, Semi-Twang; pioneering drummer Viola Smith, distinguished Milwaukee R&B group, The Esquires; and southern rocker by way of Milwaukee, Kevn Kinney.
