OSHKOSH — The time machine hasn’t been invented, though EAA is preparing to provide the next best thing.

Put on your dancing shoes and prepare to step back into the 1940s.

The EAA will hold its annual September Swing event on Sept. 28, bringing the big band sound to its Eagle Hangar and among authentic World War II era aircraft.

This year’s event will pay tribute to the 75th anniversary of D-Day. The dance begins at 7 p.m.

The price of admission includes hors d’oeuvres and group dance lessons from Appleton’s Fred Astaire Dance Studios. Period dress is encouraged, but not required.

Ladies Must Swing, an all-female swing band out of Madison, will provide the music for the evening.

Awards will be given to the best dancers and the best dressed.

Advance tickets are $40 per person or $75 per couple. Active military and veterans are welcome with free admission. Prices will increase to $45 and $80 for couples at 5 p.m. on Sept. 27. Click here to register.
