It’s once again time for cold beer served in plastic cups under hot, steamy tents.
It’s the season for deep fried foods followed by midway rides — even though we should all know better than to run that gauntlet.
They’re all about helping local nonprofits, hanging with friends and taking in hours of live music from our favorite local musicians.
The community festival season is finally upon us and Little Chute kicked off the calendar on Friday with day one of the Great Wisconsin Cheese Festival at Doyle Park.
The rides whirled while Johnny Wad rocked the opening night main stage.
Cheese Fest’s Saturday live music lineup includes Homemade Brew from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., KISS-FM’s Summer Slam from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Boogie and the Yo-Yo’z from 8 p.m. until midnight.
Cheese will take center stage on Saturday afternoon with a cheese tasting and a cheese curd eating contest.
Cheese Fest features free admission Sunday.
Live music will run from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. with Elliott Blaufuss and J-Council.
