June is the month in which Oshkosh begins to earn its Events City moniker.
While the planes don’t arrive until July, expect to see tour buses aplenty with Country USA and the opening events of the Waterfest music series just weeks away.
Creed frontman Scott Stapp will headline Waterfest’s 2019 opener at the Leach Amphitheater.
Alabama will headline night one of Country USA one week later.
Country USA trimmed back from five days to three for 2019 — its 24th annual edition. The festival runs from June 27-29. They’ll still pack the star power into Ford Festival Park during the Thursday through Saturday affair.
The music starts at 2:45 p.m. each day with the headliners taking the stage at 11 p.m.
On Thursday, artists including Neal McCoy, Trace Adkins and Cole Swindell will lead into Alabama.
Friday’s line-up includes Tracy Lawrence, Tyler Farr and Jon Pardi prior to headliner Dierks Bentley.
Brad Paisley will close down the festival on Saturday. He’s joined in the line-up by artists including John Michael Montgomery, Scotty McCreery and Justin Moore.
Waterfest opens its 34th year of live music along the Fox River on June 20. The gates open at 5:45 p.m. and the night will feature Keith Pulvermacher, Messer and Alien Atmosphere in addition to Stapp.
Perhaps the most eclectic live music lineup of 2019 will mark Waterfest’s second night on June 27. Hairball will headline with its celebration of arena rock. The night will open with Pioneers of Jazz featuring John Harmon, Janet Planet and guests. Roots/Americana favorites Copper Box will be sandwiched in between.
